The San Francisco Fashion Film Festival is presenting films that have had an impact on the worlds of fashion and culture through their costuming or visual style, in addition to lesser-known documentaries and the amazing creativity of independent filmmakers in the fashion sector.

The San Francisco Fashion Film Festival presents a selection of feature films, documentaries, and indie shorts curated by theme. Opening the festival on Saturday is Ziegfeld Girl and "the Influence of Opulence". A true Hollywood classic, this film has inspired countless designers (including Bob Mackie, Bill Blass, and Valentino), and even exhibits themes that surface throughout other films in the festival. We're excited to present "Tailoring the Man", as menswear is a fascinating, but oft-overlooked part of fashion. Fashion is all about fun, and so is our "Futuristic Heroine" segment featuring sci-fi guilty pleasures Barbarella and the Matrix. In partnership with the de Young Museum we're excited to open Sunday with City of Lost Children, a film costumed by this creative couturier. The rest of Sunday is about beauty and decadence - both the joy and pitfalls. We're excited to show all of these films, and we hope you have a thoughtful and enjoyable experience.
